Following the general election in Northern Ireland on 5 May, the Republican party Sinn Féin came out on top with 29% of the vote. This is a historic score for the party, which advocates the reunification of Northern Ireland with the Republic of Ireland, and which for the first time has come out on top in the Northern Ireland general election.
As the war in Ukraine enters its third month, the economic consequences for Europe are becoming more apparent by the day. In some countries, such as France and Germany, shortages of certain products, such as sunflower oil, are beginning to appear.
The Ukrainian conflict keeps on going, with Russian armed forces having taken the port of Mariupol and a large part of the left bank of the Dnieper river. European countries, and particularly neighboring countries, are hosting streams of civilian refugees.
